Policy

We may give you a reminder phone call or send you a letter if you are due for a follow-up appointment or test. If you do not wish to be part of this system, please inform the receptionist.

Pathology and radiology results are reviewed by our doctors as soon as available and are marked normal or abnormal. When contacting our office for results, it is a practice policy that our receptionists are not authorized to access your results other than to inform you if the comment by your doctor was normal or abnormal. In case that the result was abnormal, a follow up consultation with your doctor to discuss the result is required.

If your test results are abnormal then we will send you two reminders. Please ensure you respond to your recall letter to ensure your medical care is optimal. In case of emergency, please ensure that you provide us with your updated address and contact phone numbers.

A referral is a formal professional request from a GP for a Specialist service. It must require relevant clinical information regarding the patient’s medical history and the problem requiring the referral. A consultation is required for all referrals. Referrals cannot be backdated.

To improve patient care, your doctors are not interrupted during consultation except in emergencies. If you have any medical issues that you wish to discuss with your doctor, please do not hesitate to organise an appointment. If the matter is urgent and cannot be delayed then your doctor will be interrupted to provide you appropriate emergency procedures.

Our practice is accredited for providing care for patients from Aboriginal and Torres Straight background. Please notify your receptionist or doctor if you are from this background. If you have a specific cultural need, please inform your doctor.

We respectfully request that you refrain from smoking at the surgery, this includes the waiting room, the consulting room, the front entrance, and the car park.

In case of emergency, we may require to contact your next of kin. Please ensure that this is available and updated in our record.
